I wanted to give a shout out and highly encourage you to visit Nature Photographers Network online.  It is a fantastic place to learn and grow your skills as well as join a vibrant and supportive community.  To quote NPN, “NPN is a community of like minded photographers that are tired of social media. NPN isn’t about getting popular or getting your name out there. NPN is about a community helping out fellow photographers through helpful image critiques, thoughtful articles, meetups, and a whole lot more.”

Back in the day, Nature Photographers Network was THE place to go for nature and landscape photography.  All the big hitters where there giving feedback, socializing and building the nature photo business in to what it is today.   As new platforms came along, NPN sort of faded in to the background to the point it wasn’t a valuable resource any longer.  Finally, someone came along and realized the value of this site and group and has been putting the time, money and effort in to revitalizing it to the point that it is attracting professional and hobby photographers and everyone is super excited to re-build this great community.

This effort to revitalize Nature Photographers Network is being led by David Kingham, who is an accomplished photographer, workshop leader and educator.  David is assisted by Jennifer Renwick and a host of other contributing photographers, providing content, hosting events and providing image reviews.  There is a TON of great energy happening on NPN right now and its a site I visit almost every day to check out the new work being posted.

If you are a regular social media user, you may be feeling that many of the sites don’t really cater to photographers and are prioritizing video and promotional posts over honest-to-goodness interactions and connections amongst photographers.  Well, Nature Photographers Network is solely designed by photographers for photographers and that’s it…it’s for the craft of nature and landscape photography, nothing more than that.

They reached out recently and asked me to submit articles to them as well as host a few upcoming events.  Of course I had to say YES!  I’ve been a member of NPN for many years and I’m so excited that it is coming back and to be a part of making it a fantastic photography site!  So stay tuned to see my content on the site soon.

There is a small membership fee to support all the great work David is doing.  I encourage you to check out the site and if you want to join,  you can get a 10% discount by using the code Pedersen10.

We just hosted David and Jennifer on our podcast We Talk Photo.  If you want to get to know them a bit better, please check out the episode with them.

I highly encourage you to go check out the website and get involved in the community.  The nature and landscape photography community is fairly small and it is such a wonderful feeling to get connected with others who share our passion as well as engaging in the growth of our own artistic knowledge and skills, while supporting each other.  Check it out!
