Videos

Below is a collection of videos from my photo workshops and numerous travels.

These videos describe many different aspects of photography: from tips and techniques, processing, gear reviews, image reviews or just sharing general thoughts about all things photography. Specializing in landscape and nature photography in the Pacific Northwest, I bring years of photographic experience and teaching in my videos and I hope you enjoy watching them.

All of these, plus photography instructional videos, are also available on my YouTube Channel.

Oregon Coast Photo Workshop

May 2023

The Oregon Coast never fails to provide an amazing palette for creating photographic art.  During this workshop, we enjoyed low tides and abundant tide pools and marine life to fill our frames.  Come along on this coastal journey and see the wonder and beauty of this amazing landscape.

Monument Valley Photo Workshop
September 2023

We took a dedicated group to the Desert SW for an amazing experience photographing Monument Valley and Canyon de Chelley.  Located on Navajo lands, these awe-inspiring and spiritual locations provided plenty of inspiration for creating photographic art.

Katmai NP Photo Workshop

September 2022

2022 was an amazing year for our workshop in Katmai N.P.  Jack Graham and I brought along a wonderful group in September 2022 for 6 days to capture the grizzly bears amongst the Fall colors. Each day we flew in float planes in to the park and on several days, used rafts to float sections of a river to get up close and personal with the animals.  Not afraid of humans, the bears approached us to closely that we couldn’t use our long lenses!  An amazing bucket-list experience for all who came along!

Grand Tetons NP Winter Photo Workshop
December 2022

Winter is the BEST time to be in Grand Tetons National Park with no tourists, no traffic, and great views of the landscape and wildlife. This year we enjoyed incredible wildlife encounters and stunning scenery as the Winter started to settle in to the valley.  Come along as I show you parts of the park and what it’s like to be there in the winter.

Iceland Winter Photo Workshop

Come along as I show you some of the highlights of my winter photography workshop in Iceland from February 2020. This beautiful landscape becomes even more amazing in the winter time with ice coating the sides of the waterfalls, snow covered beaches and lots of drama in the sky. Winter is the best time to witness the aurora and Iceland is a prime location to witness this amazing display.

A short video from our 2019 workshop to Katmai National Park to photograph the bears and landscapes of this magnificent area.

Palouse Harvest Workshop
August 2021

I led a masterclass workshop in the Palouse area during harvest time, August, and it was such a fantastic experience for those that attended.  The gold and brown color palette was different than the traditional spring greens and let us compose unique images.  Plus, the harvest lines in the fields added more dimensionality to the compositions.  I’m very excited to be offering this workshop in 2022 and 2023.

Central Oregon Coast Workshop

The Oregon Coast is one of the most amazing places to visit and photograph.  So much photographic potential along every mile.  I run a workshop based in Yachats OR in the Spring, bringing people to this small community as a base of operations to create some amazing images along the coastline.

Photographing the Palouse

I recently returned from co-leading a workshop to the Palouse area of Eastern Washington. If you’ve never been, it’s a magical place to photograph, using all of your creative tools to create compelling images.

Photographing Dahlias

Oregon is a prime dahlia growing area with lots of farms nearby.  Join me as I give you a tour of the fields, some tips and tricks about shooting flowers and show a few of the images I captured.  Look for my dahlia photo workshop in August.

Eyes of the Soul

Photographing animals or people, the eyes are the window to the inner being.  This video showcases many of the images I’ve captured of wildlife and how the eyes are often the most important aspect of an image.
