John Pedersen :: Photographer & Creative Educator

My Passion

As a photographer for most of my life, my desire has always been to convey my love of nature and the visual arts through photography.

I work to bring a unique perspective to every image I create, from wide sweeping landscapes to intimate nature portraits.  I use natural lighting and thoughtful composition to draw the viewer in to the scene, to help them visualize what it was like to be in a beautiful location and to connect them with the wonders of nature.

I see myself as more than just a photographer, I am also a creative educator in that I am inspired to help others further their creative photographic goals and become better artists. Through group and 1×1 workshops, plus remote teaching and speaking engagements, my goal is to bring passion and inspiration to everyone I work with in the visual arts. I am also a “continual learner” and I never stop learning new techniques or pushing my own comfort zone and workflow to new directions.

Travels

A native of the Pacific Northwest, I have traveled extensively across the world (Europe, Asia, Americas) observing the rhythms of nature and the beautiful sights this world has to offer.  Each different landscape and culture brings unique photographic opportunities and I am fortunate to have developed the vision and skill to capture what I think is the essence of a scene in my camera.   As much travel as I do though, my deepest passion is photographing immense diversity of the Western U.S. … dramatic coastlines, verdant forests, amazing waterfalls, unique deserts, snow covered mountains and everything in between

My Commitment

My commitment to you is to provide the highest quality experience possible, whether it’s a group or 1×1 workshop, teaching or speaking engagement, or simply the highest quality print to hang on your wall.  Your satisfaction is my primary focus and if in some way I can enrich your life through my work, I am satisfied.

Patreon

I am a believer in supporting the arts and the artists who create it.  An artistic life is not one of glamor or riches and for each artist, it can be a fulfilling journey, yet one that might not be the most financially rewarding.  If you’ve read this far in to my site, I hope that you’ve come to appreciate a bit of what I offer and my commitment to creating artistic photographs and teaching others how to do the same.

As such, I  have a Patreon account that is designed for supporters who are committed to the arts and learning this photographic art form.  For a monthly subscription, you can receive one or more of my e-books, access to exclusive content created just for my Patreon subscribers, as well as possible discounts on my photo workshops (depending on subscription level).  For the price of a cup of coffee, you can help support my efforts to continue creating great content that I hope will inform and inspire you to greater heights in your own photography.
