We talk a lot about gear in the photo hobby/business.  Gear is something that is easy to talk about and people get excited about the latest and greatest…as they should.

However, when was the last time you thought about the memory cards  you use in your camera?  We spend thousands on camera bodies and even more thousands on a quiver of the best lenses……yet many people buy the cheapest memory card available.  Why?

Memory cards are just as important as a camera body, lens, tripod or filter.  They are essential in the faithful capture and reproduction of your images.  When shooting video or rapid bursts of shots do you have to wait for your buffer to clear? Have  you ever experienced a memory card failure and lost your pictures?  Have you spent a long time slowly downloading images from your card to your computer?

Listen to our interview with Mark Lewis from Prograde Digital, one of the leading manufacturers of memory cards for still/video capture.  Mark explains what makes ProGrade different and why they have such a high level of quality in everything that they make.  Improved quality and faster transfer rates mean that you will not be slowed down by your memory card.

I encourage you all to give your memory cards as much attention (and $$) as you spend on the rest of  your gear.  Every single thing in the signal path is critical to the faithful and high quality capture and reproduction of your images.
