Photograph the Pacific Northwest Photo Workshop

Olympic National Park is on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula in the Pacific Northwest. The park sprawls across several different ecosystems, from the dramatic peaks of the Olympic Mountains to old-growth forests down to the amazing beaches of the Pacific shoreline We’ll visit locations such as the Hoh Rainforest, Hurricane Ridge, The Sol Duc Valley, Ruby Beach, and many more during our workshop. Having visited and conducted many workshops in the park over the past 20 years, we know some secret locations! The diversity of the ecosystems in such proximity makes this one of the most desirable areas on earth to photograph.

Join me and Jack Graham as we lead you through one of the most beautiful areas in the US.  Jack and I have many years of experience photographing this park and know the ins and outs of each location to ensure that you have a wonderful experience and the best chance of capturing amazing images.

Rain and storms on the northern Washington coastline are common this time of year. Yes, we shoot in the rain, but if you want drama, this is for you! This is a great time to be here since the rainy season makes for great sunsets and light. Typically, the best photography here is made in the soft light of a rainy day as we move about the park. The advantage of making images in the rain is that when most objects are wet they glisten and the water bends the reflected light coming off an object’s surface. The water reflects the light in various directions which intensifies and enhances the already special effect of the deep green lush rainforests that we’ll be experiencing.

We’ll meet in Forks, Washington on the evening of April 7th at 6pm in the hotel lobby to get to know each other, go over itineraries and discuss our objectives for the workshop.

More details regarding travel, what to bring, and accommodation will be sent to you after registration. Accommodation is not included in the workshop cost.
