Join me as we explore and photograph the amazing dahlia fields south of Portland, Oregon along with a select few chosen gardens along with photogenic vineyards in the Willamette Valley.  This is an intensive 1 1/2 day workshop focusing on creating compelling images, ones that draw the viewer in to the details and colors of fascinating flowers and surrounding landscapes.  We will combine field work along with image review and instructional time to ensure that you come away with newfound skills and great images.

Dahlia flowers can be some of the most beautiful flowers to photograph, providing a wide variety of compositional possibilities, along with a huge variety of shapes, colors and textures.  We will have ample time to practice close-up photography and will have lots of teaching in the field to slow down and capture the essence of the flower in your shot.  We will also visit other NW gardens nearby in order to capture different flora as blooming conditions allow.

Preparation and being in the right mindset can help you achieve better results. Before the workshop begins, we will send you several updates so you can better prepare for the conditions and environment.  Also, please read this helpful article on how to prepare for one of our photo workshops.
