Nothing says Wyoming like Winter in the Tetons!  At this time of year, the Christmas decorations are up but the crowds haven’t arrived yet and it’s a perfect time for a photo workshop – Winter in the Tetons!  Join myself and Jack Graham as we lead you on this amazing experience in a landscape that is truly “picture perfect”. Grand Teton National Park is an almost pristine ecosystem and the same species of flora and fauna that have existed since prehistoric times can still be found there.  With the iconic jagged mountains of the Tetons bordering the park on the West, the famous barns, rivers, wildlife and scenery makes this an unforgettable experience.  We have been leading workshops here for 20 years and know the right places to get you at the right times to create amazing images.

Experience Grand Teton National Park on this amazing winter photo workshop! We will spend 3 ½ days exploring Grand Teton National Park and the surrounding area. The snow-capped mountains of the Teton range will be visible from the famous Snake River locations we’ll photograph from.  Plus, much like Yellowstone, wildlife is common – we often see moose, elk, trumpeter swans, bison and coyotes. And in the winter, the wildlife is down from the high country and much more active as they forage for food. We will photograph the snow capped mountains of the Tetons range, rustic cabins, meandering creeks and rivers, plus many other fantastic sights.    Join us for this stunning winter adventure!

We will base our workshop out of Jackson Wyoming which is just a short distance from the park.  We will spend our days photographing the landscapes and winter scenes and hunting for the ideal wildlife images.  Plus, we will spend time doing image reviews and learning throughout the workshop.  The days are short here this time of year and we will make the most of each day, maximizing our photographic time with the available light and conditions.

If you’re worried about cold, don’t be!  Yes, it is an alpine environment and can be cold, but nothing that your basic clothing can’t handle.  This time of year is perfect as there is usually snow in the higher country, some down in the valley, yet it is still warm enough to be comfortable and navigable.  Most of the roads are plowed (though the inner roads of the park are closed) and Mormon Row road is still open for us to access the famous barns!

Please note that although the workshop starts at sunrise on December 3rd, we will meet in Jackson Hole, WY on the evening of December 2nd for an hour or so to go over itineraries, travel, and workshop goals.

Preparation and being in the right mindset can help you achieve better results. Before the workshop begins, we will send you several updates so you can better prepare for the conditions and environment.  Please read this helpful article on how to prepare for one of our photo workshops.
